Noun 1. ostinato - a musical phrase repeated over and over during a composition
ground bass - a short melody in the bass that is constantly repeated
musical phrase, phrase - a short musical passage
riff - a jazz ostinato; usually provides a background for a solo improvisation

Album art is “Ostinato or Rhythmic Order” by Kurt Kranz. For Kranz, this is more about the process of creation than a singular masterpiece. And that is how I approached this album. I wanted to explore the medium of the ostinato - repeating patterns without them becoming boring. this is essentially how most electronic/dance music is made anyway but working within the strict framework did produce a certain type of arrangement that are "more about the process of creation than a singular masterpiece".
